Seriously, what did he think was gonna happen?

And here I thought blaming crime victims, justly deserved or not, was actually one of the enumerated no-no's... And I've waited all day for he mods to actually justly do their jobs. Guess when they agree it's just as when they don't agree with a post, the rules don't matter.

Taking a restroom break ? Well, next time take your laptop with you?

Didn't report the theft for 3.5 hours? Did he think the laptop would return after the thief used it? Or did the laptop need a break from being used, developed legs, and walked away? Might as well have left $1200 on the table and hoped it would be there when he returned. Quoting John Wayne: Life's tough. It's tougher when you're stupid.

No. This person waited FIFTEEN HOURS and TWENTY MINUTES to report the "theft." What? Did he think he could get it back using PRAYER?

My bad. Didn't look at the dates, only the times. Slight oversight, not stupidity.

Actually, the story says he didn't report the theft for 15 1/2 hours. P. S.: John Wayne feels sorry for you. (sorry, couldn't resist!)

A little late in reporting the theft. I think I would have asked a waitress to just keep an eye on it for a few minutes. If computers are stolen in locked homes, what makes this person think it is safe on a public store? People are desperate!

In a perfect world people would leave other people's stuff alone, but as we are not in a perfect world you would be advised not to leave valuables unattended. That goes for purses, cell phones, iPods, etc. Sorry this guy found it out the hard way. I would hate to lose my laptop!
