Gas station robbed at gunpoint in Pittsfield Township

By Lee Higgins

A Sunoco gas station was robbed at gunpoint early this morning, Pittsfield Township police said.

About 12:04 a.m., a man walked into the station's convenience store in the 4000 block of Washtenaw Avenue, pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the cash register, a police news release said.

The man made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was described as black, 6 feet tall and thin. He was wearing a black hooded sweat shirt "with skulls on it," a mask and dark jeans, the release said. Police said he was armed with a blue steel revolver.

The robbery came less than seven hours after a man was arrested after a robbery at the Boggs gas station in the 400 block of North Prospect Road in Ypsilanti.

Anyone with information can call police at (734) 822-4911.

guns are everywhere and how on earth do the bad guys get caught before using the gun---simple--he gets stopped for a traffic violation, --oh you say , the bad guys are not committing traffic violations----get real--they 're always making mistakes and good police work, will always win over stupid bad guys----however we need to get these autos stopped, before they commit the crime---and that takes effort----there is way too much crime in Pittsfield Township----we are not getting our moneys worth -----

Hands, around the eyes, it don't take a genius to even notice a few things like that!

Anyone else notice that both gas stations are owned by the same person?
