Duffel bag full of items reported stolen in Ann Arbor home invasion found behind strip mall

A duffel bag full of expensive items was found behind a strip mall on Packard Street in Ann Arbor Sunday night, and police believe the material was stolen during a home invasion two blocks away.

Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said police went at 2:15 p.m. Sunday to the 3300 block of Packard Road after a home invasion was reported. The back door to the home was forced open.

Cameras, money from two piggy banks, jewelry and other items were reported stolen from the home, Bush said.

At 11:50 p.m., a business owner in the 3100 block of Packard Road called police and reported finding a duffel bag. Inside the duffel bag were an Apple iTouch, an iPhone, a laptop, laptop case, DVD player, speakers, cameras, a camera case, camera lenses, miscellaneous camera equipment and shoes were all found inside.

Bush said investigators determined the items had been stolen from the residence in the 3300 block of Packard earlier that day.
