Two men suffered non life-threatening injuries after being shot Friday night near a convenience store in the 2000 block of South Grove Street in Ypsilanti Township, Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department spokesman Derrick Jackson said.
The men were walking in the area near Dairy Mart when a fight broke out nearby, and they were shot at about 7:19 p.m., Jackson said.
One victim suffered a graze wound to the head, Jackson said. Deputies did not have details about the other victim's injuries. Both were taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Jackson said.
Jackson said it's unclear why the fight broke out, and he did not know how many people were involved.
The shooter was described as black, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 160 pounds and 20 years old. He was wearing a blue coat, light blue hat and baggy blue jeans, a sheriff's department media summary said.
