Dave's Diamond and Gold broken into early Monday morning
A man broke into a resale store in Ypsilanti Township early Monday morning and swiped something behind one of the counters before escaping, Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies said.
Dave’s Diamond and Gold early Monday morning and stole an unknown item from behind one of the counters before escaping, according to sheriff’s deputies.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office reported investigators responded to a burglary alarm at 6 a.m. Monday at Dave's Diamond and Gold, 1701 E. Michigan Ave. The man was gone by the time deputies arrived, but it was apparent that he had broken out a front window in order to enter the store, deputies said.
Security camera footage showed the intruder taking an unknown item from behind the counter and then leaving the store through the same window, deputies reported.
There was no security camera footage of the man’s face, deputies said. The suspect was described as a black man wearing black gloves, a black hat and a striped polo shirt with large white stripes and small gray stripes. He also wore shorts that extended below his knees and black shoes, deputies reported.
No further information was available Tuesday morning, and the security camera footage could not be released, deputies said.
Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office anonymous tip line at 734-973-7711.

The owner of this place should be real thrilled about this article. First it is referred to a "resale" store. Second, the place was broken into. Third, it is now public info that he does not have surveillance in a certain part or parts of his store.

If this business was in Ann Arbor it would have been called Jewelry Boutique, but since it's in Ypsi it is a re-sale shop.............tell the truth..it's a pawn shop!

Abe with these kinds of stores the surveillance camera should be on the owner, of course nobody's forced to go to these places.
