Copy machine stolen from Ypsilanti business
Ypsilanti police are investigating the theft of a copy machine from a business in the 600 block of South Mansfield Street reported Monday morning.
Employees came in to work around 6:15 a.m. and discovered the break-in.
“The people were coming in and noticed the window was smashed out,” said Sgt. Dennis Szymankiewicz.
Police did not yet have a value of the copy machine, which was characterized as being small enough to fit on a desk.
Police would not release what type of business it was. The incident remains under investigation.

I've seen small groups of guys standing around on Mansfield watching me (and others) going through the drive-through credit union ATM there. After the 2nd or 3rd time noticing this, one day a lady pulled up beside me in her car and said "Do you see those guys over there? I'm leaving." I said "Yes, I noticed them last time I was here." She offered to stay and watch me until I finished my transaction, and then we both drove away together. Afterward, I called the Ypsilanti police and reported it. I don't really care to be "cased" by 3 or 4 guys every time I use the ATM.

My first thought was that counterfeiters had nabbed a high-end machine (it happens). But those are usually not small enough to fit on a desk.
