Basement window broken out in break-in attempt in Superior Township

A homeowner who didn't answer the doorbell soon heard the basement window being broken out in a burglary attempt in Superior Township on Sunday, according to the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department.

The resident, who lives in the 1000 block of Golfview Drive, said the doorbell rang at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, reports said.

The homeowner didn't answer and heard glass breaking several minutes later, reports said. The homeowner then discovered the basement window was broken out, but no one was around.

Entry was not gained, and nothing was taken.
