Ann Arbor police: Van passenger shot in the arm with a BB

By Kyle Feldscher

A 33-year-old Ann Arbor man was shot in the right arm with a BB fired by an unknown person Monday afternoon, police said.

Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said the man was a passenger in a van that was traveling south between 3:45 p.m. and 4 p.m. Monday in the 1200 block of Packard Street. The man reported hearing a sound like an air gun and felt a sting on his right arm, Bush said.

The BB fell into the vehicle and the man recovered it. He reported the incident to police at the station’s front desk.

No suspects were seen and nothing appeared to be unusual in the area, Bush said.

Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call the Ann Arbor police anonymous tip line at 734-794-6930.

While I too thought it silly to report, the same thing happened to me last summer near Packard/Industrial...I now wish I did report it, perhaps it wouldn't still be happening! I just wrote it off as kids being kids, the BB hit my car door, lucky my windows were up!

Sounds like the man's arm got in the way of someones 2nd amendment rights

Ah yes, let the second amendment bashing begin. If this person was intentionally shot at it is a criminal act, plain and simple. Just because my car was doing the driving while I was drunk and happened to be behind the wheel, it does not free me from culpability. Just ban all cars, problem solved.

@Fester has been shot** Implying that reporting this will stop who ever did it from going out and buying an AK47 and shooting people. Your logic is flawed. This is the same thing if someone reported being hit by a snow ball.

Yes, I agree...he should wait at least until he has be shot by a AK47.

Another stupid act, glad the man was struck in the arm rather than his eye.
