Crash shuts northbound U.S. 23 near Whitmore Lake

6 p.m. update: All lanes of the freeway have been reopened.
A crash prompted police to shut northbound U.S. 23 between 8 and 9 mile roads just north of the Washtenaw County line Saturday afternoon.
Authorities were expecting the freeway lanes to be closed in the Whitmore Lake area for about an hour, a Livingston County dispatcher said just before 5 p.m.
No further information, including how many vehicles were involved in the crash, was immediately available.
