A driver was able to walk away from a rollover crash on westbound I-94 at Liberty Road on the west side of Ann Arbor this morning.

The driver of the Dodge Ram pickup truck refused treatment at the scene, said Ann Arbor Fire Lt. Mark Edman.

The crash, which occurred about 9 a.m., shut down all westbound lanes of the freeway, but they had been reopened as of 10:15 a.m., a dispatcher with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office said.

State Police investigated the accident. No further information was immediately available.

i am the driver of this accident it was a dodge ram 2500 deisle, with 35 inch tires. the back axle is in the middle of the highway and only one good tire remained on the truck. i know from the picture its hard to tell what it is cause its so mangled. i rolled 4-6 times and walked away with two scratches. i am very thankful to be alive and i honestly have to say my seatbelt saved my life, besides those above watching over me. so you guys can stop asking dumb questions about what kind of car it is cause thats honeslty not that important. main thing is im alive and walked away.

It's great that you are ok. What happened to cause the rollover?

It must have been a fairly high-speed rollover. The stuff that was in the bed of his truck was all over the eastbound lanes, all the way to the shoulder opposite where he came to rest.

why and HOW does this need to shut down a Major freeway why not leave one lane open, maybe this needs to be legislated.

"The crash, which occurred about 9 a.m., shut down all westbound lanes of the freeway, but they had been reopened as of 10:15 a.m., a dispatcher with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office." This sentence does not parse. Is that what the Washtenaw County Sheriff's office SAID, perhaps?

Yes, said.

"A driver walked away from a rollover crash on westbound I-94 at Liberty Road on the west side of Ann Arbor this morning." Does that mean the driver left the scene of the accident? It is contradicted by the next sentence where it is stated that the driver refused treatment at the scene.

It is not meant to suggest he left the scene, only that he was not seriously injured.

Lt. Edman confirms your suspicions. It's a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. I've updated the article with that information.

It's a Dodge Ram Pickup. Turn the photo upside down, so the vehicle is right side up. It's clear.

Cindy, could you find out the make and model of the car/truck so these readers can get on with their lives?

@doctrsnoop, You are correct, the vehicle is a mid-nineties Dodge Ram pickup truck. Glad driver is ok ! Good Day

Looks like a Dodge Ram by the bumpers and nose, and a car wouldn't have a solid axle like that.

Wow. Besides losing the rear axle it also looks like the right front wheel may also be missing.

Fire department was on the scene minutes after the 911 call. Not a pick-up. Mid size car. Spectacular crash, like out of a movie. Car was airborne. Amazing, the driver crawled out with only a bloody elbow. He is a very lucky young man.

Turn the picture upside and take another look. Very clear it is a silver Dodge Ram or Dakota pickup truck.

I wonder how much longer it took the Fire Department to respond as the west side fire station had a sign in front of it all weekend saying it was closed and to call 911. Glad there was no one hurt that needed faster response time.

Station #6 out of Briarwood would have had a better shot at it anyway if it was WB at Liberty.

It appears to be a Dodge Ram Pickup - those are not the front wheels but the rear axle.

Good call. I second the Dodge Ram and rear axle.

They'll likely report more once they know more. But that is rather intriguing...the front two wheels just kind of sitting there.
