County emergency warning sirens to be tested at noon Saturday
Despite today's heat and chance of thunderstorms, those sirens many of us are about to hear do not mean severe weather is imminent.
The Washtenaw County Emergency Operations Center plans to test 39 outdoor warning sirens on Saturday July 7 at noon. These sirens are tested at noon on the first Saturday of every month from March through September.
The sirens are generally activated in situations like tornado warnings or severe thunderstorm warnings.
This test does not include sirens within the City of Ann Arbor, which are tested on the second Tuesday of every month at 1 p.m.
