Clark Road closed at Hogback; 2 vehicles stuck in flooded roadway
Two vehicles are stuck on Clark Road after a creek flooded the roadway just east of Hogback Road on the border of Ann Arbor and Pittsfield townships east of Ann Arbor.
Officials closed Clark at Hogback around 5 p.m. Wednesday, said Marc Breckenridge, emergency services director of the Washteanw County Sheriff’s office.
The low-lying portion of road severely floods every few years, Breckenridge said.
Breckenridge reminded drivers to go around, instead of drive through, flooded roadways.

um, golly bedrog, have some decaf. I believe it is the County Drain Commissioner and not just the city or the townships. Flooding seems to be widespread throughout the county despite all the efforts to modernize and update. At 9:07 there is not a single leaf blowing. Eerie. The excess moisture from our changing climate is to blame for most of our severe weather.

Additional storm drains were installed last year in this area to reduce the overflow from the Swift Run tributaries which are the main waterway involved .... ( and David Briegel: This is the ann arbor township/ pittsfield frontier,so stop blaming ann arbor officials for everything!! Mother nature does play a role.) ....and mostly these storm sewer additions have worked , but this rainy season is quite something else ,and more precipitation than ive seen in the 11 years i've lived more or less on top of the area in the article. My marshland- side patio ( about to flood) would agree, as would the ducks swimming on my neighbors lawn as of an hour ago. Climate change is real, notwithstanding the fantasies of those convinced it's a Democratic party /Al Gore conspiracy theory.

The drain commissioner is a county position, not a city position. (Honestly, I don't know if the city has their own drain commissioner. I don't care enough to find out.)

Why do we have a Drain Commissioner? Should we have a Flood Commissioner?

That road floods more often than every couple of years. It floods at least once a year. The last time I know of, that the road was closed due to flooding was the night of the Dundee tornado. (I was part of the crew that had the road shut down, while the tornado going through Dundee.)

We don't wish the prisoners nearby to experience jail flooding; trust the county jail is even better secured against flooding than other buildings nearby.

it's really pretty simple:stay off flooded roads. doesn't take a genius or even a Blue Brain to figure this out
