Transition Town Chelsea announces Earth Month events
Transition Town Chelsea has announced four events at the Chelsea District Library in honor of Earth Month and Earth Day on April 22.
Chelsea resident Craig Toepfer, author of “The Hybrid Electric Home — Clean, Efficient, Profitable,” will present the past, present, and future of electricity in America on April 12 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The movie “Earth,” a Disney/BBC movie, about the lives of creatures that share our planet will be shown on April 14 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
On April 21, Kurt Cobb, author of the peak oil novel “Prelude’ will participate in a discussion about the world’s reliance on non-renewable energy sources. After an initial introduction of energy issues, Cobb will field questions from the audience about the future of energy from 6:30 to 8 p.m. On April 23, John Richter will outline the environmental, supply security, and economic benefits of renewable energy, and hand out a list of conservation and renewable energy actions participants can take from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
