Sylvan Township residents and other motorists who travel on Cavanaugh Lake Road should take note that the road at the railroad crossing will be closed for parts of the day today.

Chelsea Police sent out a Nixle alert this morning that said the railroad may close other crossings periodically throughout Tuesday as well for maintenance work.

However, the crossing at Main Street in downtown Chelsea will not be affected.

These periodic closures are planned for Tuesday only, according to police.
