By AnnArbor.com Staff

Two occupants were trapped in their car Friday afternoon when it struck a tree on Traver Road on Ann Arbor's north side, causing the car to roll onto its driver's side.

The crash occurred at about 3:45 p.m. in the 2400 block of Traver Road, between Tuebingen and Lakehurst.

Ann Arbor fire officials said the 2000 Toyota Camry ran off the roadway and hit a tree. Firefighters stabilized the car to prevent it from rolling over again, then used electric saws and hydraulic tools to cut the roof off.

The two occupants were freed and were taken to the University of Michigan Hospital for treatment. An updated condition was not available today.

No information on the cause of the crash has been released.
