Canton resident critically injured in single-car crash in Ypsilanti Township
A 34-year-old Canton resident was airlifted to the University of Michigan Hospital in critical condition Sunday morning after a crash in Ypsianti Township, Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies said.
The driver's 1999 Nissan was traveling east on Michigan Avenue, went off the road and struck a tree about 9:15 a.m., a sheriff's department incident summary said.
The accident is under investigation.
Derrick Jackson, the sheriff department's director of community engagement, could not immediately be reached for comment this morning.
