Calvary Christian Academy Top Scholar

Calvary Christian Academy held its 2011 graduation ceremonies Friday, June 10 at Calvary Baptist Church auditorium. The class included six graduates.

Activities and Awards: Christopher has played varsity sports all through high school. He played varsity soccer ninth-12th grades, varsity baseball 11th-12th grades and varsity basketball in 10th. He was selected as the "All Conference 1st team in Soccer" his senior year. He was also awarded the "Offense Player of the Year" at Calvary for this year in soccer. As a junior Christopher received the "Encouragement Award" in varsity baseball. He has been playing the piano, guitar and bass for many years and has been on the worship team leading the chapel service for the last three years. He has been awarded the "Who's Who American Scholar" for the last three years in both science and math. Christopher was awarded a scholarship to Lawrence Tech in his junior year. He was selected by Calvary for this honor because of his math and science achievements. He was on the math teams his 10th and 11th grade years at the Oakland Christian Math Competitions. The team was second overall. Christopher is a member of the National Christian Honor Society. He was awarded the Burger King a scholarship and received "Outstanding Achievement Award" by Wendy's Heisman.

Plans after graduation: Christopher plans to attend Olivette Nazarene University in the fall. He will major in mechanical engineering. The university awarded him a 50 percent scholarship.
