Brace for below-zero temperatures on Tuesday morning; wind chill advisory continues
The Ann Arbor area is awaking to a deep freeze on Tuesday, with the temperature reported at -4 F at about 5:30 a.m.
By 6 a.m., the temperatures in some areas had climbed to -2 F, but that's little consolation for anyone looking for a warmup.
In addition, a wind chill advisory remains in effect through 1 p.m., with weather forecasters warning that winds of 10 to 20 mph will make it feel colder. As of 6 a.m., even then-calm winds made the air temperature feel like -5 F.
The high could climb to 12, while overnight lows are forecast at about 7 F. Wednesday's high could reach 19.
Forecasters warn that prolonged skin exposure may lead to frost bite and hypothermia.
