Beyond the Dexter Bear: Send us your photos of Washtenaw County wildlife
Courtesy Florence Pache
Pictures of the Dexter Bear submitted to AnnArbor.com have prompted a few readers to submit photographs of other local wildlife.
We have received pictures of the Lodi Township Swans, as well as “The Ann Arbor Raccoon” submitted last week.
To showcase the photography skills of our readers and the beauty of the region’s wildlife, AnnArbor.com is asking readers to submit photos of Washtenaw County wildlife.
Please send photos to news@annarbor.com. Include your name, email, and a “name” for the animal in your photo. Submissions will be accepted through Thursday, June 30.
Please send photos of wild animals only. While pets are very cute, they are not the focus of this contest. And be safe. We're not asking you to take risks to get close to the critters.
All photos will be reviewed by the editorial staff, and the top shots will be made into a slideshow posted on the AnnArbor.com main page.

With a spy like this masked bandit, no wonder no one can find the Dexter Bear! I am looking forward to the wildlife photos, I entered a couple.

How many photographs are we allowed to submit? I have quite a few very interesting photos of wildlife from all around the county.

That is NOT just a raccoon in the picture. He is a spy for the Dexter bear. When the coast is clear, he signals "DB" to come out.

Nice caption for the photo. When I first saw it, I thought, "Pest!"

I hope someone will take a photo of the third "Dexter bear" at the corner of Joy and Zeeb!

That's scary to think about; I'd rather not know which intersection of Joy and Zeeb you're referring to.
