Ann Arbor musician Joe Reilly's song 'Let's Go Outside' chosen as anthem for National Get Outdoors Day
If you're looking for an excuse to get outdoorsy, Saturday is the 4th annual National Get Outdoors Day — and an Ann Arbor musician's ode to the great outdoors has been chosen as the "GO Day" anthem.
Folk musician Joe Reilly’s music aims to help kids appreciate nature with environmentally minded albums like “Children of the Earth and “Let’s Go Outside,” according to event organizers.

Reilly will perform the theme song and other work at an outdoor concert Sunday at the Leslie Science & Nature Center in honor of GO Day.
The concert is 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the center, 1831 Traver Road in Ann Arbor. The cost is $10.
The U.S. Forest Service has planned programs around the nation aimed at helping connect kids to the natural world. The celebration is meant to support President Barack Obama’s America’s Great Outdoors initiative and first lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move Outside campaign, aimed at combating childhood obesity through healthier lifestyles that include time spent outdoors, according to a Forest Service press release.

This is fantastic! Congrats Joe! He truly is a local treasure and it is about time he got some wider recognition. His music is upbeat with a positive message. I cannot tell you how many times I have had the "Tomato Song" stuck in my head.

Great job Joe! If you have not been to one of Joe's concerts treat yourself and family. He is a great performer for kids and adults alike. I find his music especially good for driving in rush hour traffic, it keeps me patient.
