Fire at Ann Arbor mobile home displaces residents

By Katrease Stafford

The Ann Arbor Fire Department responded to a fire at a mobile home Saturday night that remains under investigation.

At 10:09 p.m., four city firetrucks arrived in the 2700 block of Packard to put out the fire that destroyed the stove, vent hood and furnace in the home.

No one was injured in the fire, and damage cost estimates are not yet available. The homeowners were displaced from the home and are staying with a friend, a fire department official said Monday.

The fire marshal is still investigating and information was not readily available concerning whether or not the residents would be able to move back into the home.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, but officials don't believe it is suspicious.

It looks like it's right near the Malletts Creek Library and Mulberry Row. Not sure I've ever noticed it.

How is the family? What is being done to help them? Has the usual responders to this type of situations, such as the Red Cross been involved? Why hasn't this event given any "human interest" cover? Why no follow up? NOT IMPORTANT area, neighborhood, or people?

I think it has all the info it needs. What more could you want? The color of the stove? The name of the friend?

I don't know if it is possible to post a story that contains less information than this one does.

I know that the writers make easy targets to every armchair wannabee, but this story contains the following: -There was a fire in the mobile home park - The time and address was given - No one was injured - The fire destroyed the stove, vent hood, and furnace of the home - The homeowners are displaced and staying with a friend - The fire was not suspicious Seriously, what more do you want when information is not available?? Do you want the writer to make up some stuff so it is more interesting to you?
