Ann Arbor crime statistics for the week of August 29-September 4

Ann Arbor police officers responded to 55 serious crimes last week, nearly the same amount as the three prior weeks, Ann Arbor Police Department statistics show.

Among the crimes last week were three robberies, one sexual assault, seven home invasions, six assaults, and 28 larcenies.

I wonder why this isn't on the front page but articles such as the rooftop hot dog man being charged with misdemeanors is there. I wonder if a SWAT team was called in for any of the above listed serious crimes. Am I missing the part about arrests made in any of these crimes?

That is why if you choose to be armed then you need to be armed even in your home.

These 7 home invasions are troubling. Don't leave your door unlocked at any time, day or night. Never open the door to see who it is. Once you crack the door they can easily push it in and if they are armed or the homeowner is defenseless, it becomes an easy job for a criminal to work at his leisure, either tying you up or worse. Home invasion robberies are becoming more common in all communities. One feels most at ease while at home, but be on your guard for solicitors or anyone coming to your front door.
