Sean McShane is expecting a good day today.

"We'll probably be full by three, four o'clock," said the general manager at Aubree's Saloon in Ypsilanti as he sized up the prospects for a good Super Bowl crowd.

McShane was talking about the main restaurant space.

Upstairs, Sticks lounge is not opening until 3 p.m., but don't think about going there unless you're a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. The upstairs space is reserved for members of Steeler Nation, the unofficial fan club of the Pittsburgh Steelers and will likely be packed with Steelers fans. It is the official Steeler Nation headquarters for southeast Michigan.

When the Steelers take on the Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl tonight, area bars and restaurants hope to cash in on a little of the excitement between two teams with perhaps the most loyal fan bases in the country.

McShane said Super Bowl Sunday used to be rather slow for Aubree's, 39 E. Cross St., as many people have parties at home, but that's changing.

"Within the past two years it's come to be one of the busier nights for us," he said.

At Scorekeepers Sportsgrill & Pub in Ann Arbor, manager Aaron Eleby said it's hard to tell what kind of crowd the bar will get for the game, especially considering the weather.

"This year the NFL season has been pretty good for us and we're keeping pretty busy here," Eleby said, while working at Scorekeepers, 310 Maynard St. Saturday afternoon. "Especially since it's two Midwestern teams going at it, we're hoping that will bring in some local fans."

Eleby said the pub, which opens at 4 p.m., will have some additional staff on, just in case they get a rush.

"We're just hoping for a good day and hoping the weather will stay nice so people want to go out," he said.

Gordon Loll, co-owner of Ann Arbor's The Arena Sports Bar & Grill, said the bar expects a good crowd.

"We'll be busy," Loll said Saturday. "It's one of my favorite days of the year to work."
