After-school activities canceled at several Washtenaw County districts
Today's snowstorm is leading to cancellations of after-school activities and events across Washtenaw County.
• Ann Arbor Public Schools have canceled all after-school and evening activities because of the storm, said spokeswoman Liz Margolis.
• All after-school student activities for Ypsilanti Public Schools have been canceled. The buildings will remain open for scheduled adult activities, should they decide to proceed. After-school day care is not affected, spokeswoman Emma Jackson said.
• The Ypsilanti Community Band has canceled tonight's rehearsal. It's rescheduled Thursday for the same time and place.
• The Saline school district has canceled the following activities: Due to inclement weather the following activities have been cancelled/postoned: High School & Middle School Athletic Practices & Games All Middle School Evening Activities - including the Band Concert Heritage Homework Help & Spanish Club All Community Education activities are canceled tonight which include: Recreation and Competitive Basketball league practices Drivers Education Part 1 and Part 2 (students for the part 2 class will be notified on Wednesday morning about the make up day) 6th grade fiddle club After School Hoops - Pleasant Ridge After School Kicks - Houghton Bridge Building - Pleasant Ridge Jr. Theater Learn to Study and Test Taking Before and After School Care (Latchkey) will be open till 6:00 PM regular time.
• Greenhills has canceled all evening activities.
• Lincoln schools have canceled all evening activities.
• Willow Run has also canceled evening activities.
• The Ypsilanti District Library has rescheduled for March 16 a program about Jackie Ormes, First African American cartoonist.
