2-car rollover reported on southbound U.S. 23
Emergency crews were responding to southbound U.S. 23 around 5:30 p.m. Monday for two vehicles that rolled over, according to Washtenaw County dispatch.
The crash took place near Geddes Road, the dispatcher said.
Karen Gabrys with Huron Valley Ambulance said paramedics were at the scene and that two vehicles were rolled over in the median.
Gabrys said one patient was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital in stable condition while the driver of the other vehicle refused medical treatment.

The number of recent accidents on the freeways is definitely concerning. I find it ridiculous that some of our state lawmakers want to raise the speed limit to 75 or 80.

It's not the speed that kills, it's the stupidity. Driver education should be completely overhauled. Driving on the left side should be ticketed and later passing on the right should be forbidden. Avoid panicking when steering. The common response to losing control is to over-steer in attempts to regain control. Don't panic and fall into this trap! You'll only make matters much worse. Instead, grab the wheel firmly and try to keep the vehicle going in a straight path, as you pump the brakes to slow. When you panic and steer sharply, it has the same effects of going around a turn too quickly, and SUV rollovers are common.

What's up with all these rollover's in the area, especially on 23. Is it everywhere like this and we just hear about it because it's local? That's nuts! How about an article on the cause of all these rollovers AA News?

I agree. We never hear about any of the causes of any of the accidents reported. How about a list? I bet distracted driving and speed play a big role in accidents on 23. I'd like to see a list of the causes of these constant accidents on 23.

More SUVs on the road? Not saying that's likely, just one of many possible reasons. That could be a small part of it, and then a larger part is another reason.

I hope everyone is okay. Can we also get some information on the incident that took place at Glazier Way and Huron Parkway around 4:30 p.m.

oooh, not good, prayers to the victims and families. If it was a serious injury accident, or even fatal, here is to hoping the media can wait to put pictures out until the next of kin are notified.

One of the drivers did have to be cut out, he was trapped upside down in the car. He was conscious though. Other driver was able to get out of his car on his own. My question, however, is do we know if there were drugs/alcohol involved? The guy who caused the accident seemed to be inebriated. Also, the cop sent me off pretty quick, so I wasn't able to get any info on how the injured driver was doing...any info on his condition?

Agree; we can easily get the wrong idea from pictures, even from other comment posters. "Cutting open the cars"? If John Counts hadn't mentioned "the driver refused treatment" I would have concluded that the driver NEEDED treatment and was unconscious.

Drove past this just as all of the emergency crews arrived and started cutting open the cars. Huge mess, hoping its not fatal.
