The SUV turned left in front of a vehicle that hit it. The impact is what caused the SUV to roll over. Driver of SUV at fault.

That's a new Ford Escape, meaning that it comes with electronic stability control and other safety systems that are SUPPOSED to stop rollovers. Guess not.

It is highly irregular for a large SUV to just simply flip onto its side unless the driver was speeding and driving erratically, e.g. steering, braking at high speeds. Clearly, this driver has health issues or needs to be ticketed. just relieved no one else was hurt.

Thanks Stephanie! So good to know it was not a fatality. Sounded bad over the scanner.

There must be a lot of ten-year-old bargain SUV's on the used car lots.

I am amazed that these SUVs are so poorly trained. One would think that after all this time owners would know how to give the SUVs appropriate commands and they would behave -- "SIT, SUV, STAY, SUV, now roll over SUV!" Hmmm, or could it be the owners, not the SUVs, that rolled their cars? So instead of a headline "SUV rolls over" maybe something more likely, like "1 taken to hospital after poorly handling his/her car?" or "Unskilled operator fails to control vehicle"?

I don't get it.

Many drivers don't understand the handling differences between a truck or SUV and a standard car. The higher center of weight means they can't make the turns at the same speed.

The photo suggests that this rollover occurred a fair distance east of the intersection mentioned in the article — probably 200 yards or so.

107.1 mentioned a car vs. motorcycle accident on 94 at Huron this morning. I've been watching AnnArbor.com but nothing... anyone know anything?

The call for the structure fire on Maus turned out to be a minor stove fire in a kitchen that was quickly extinguished. I spoke with Ypsilanti fire about it this morning.

That accident happened right in front of me this morning. Traffic in the far left lane right before the left lane merge onto US-12/Willow Run came to a sudden stop when the motorcycle came speeding up that lane. He could not stop in tried, though he tried but he hit the SUV in front and crashed landed in my lane right in front of me. I had to swerve to the right lane to avoid running him over. Don't know how bad he was hurt but he got up and was standing there talking to the people whose car he hit.

I was listening to the scanner this morning right before 8am and it said 3 cars vs. motorcycle. Also, something happened at Michigan Ave. and Prospect, and a structure fire at Prospect and Maus street. I hope we can hear something about these too!
