Main Street Area Association Partners For Peace And Art
The Main Street Area Association has partnered with Michigan Peaceworks in an effort to bring a Peaceworks Through Art Mural project to West Liberty Street in downtown Ann Arbor. This partnership has been made possible by the Downtown Area Association Grant Program generously funded by the Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority. Michigan Peaceworks and Tree Town Murals aim to create a permanent, highly visible public mural that will represent an image of peace in the community of Ann Arbor.
This “Peaceworks Through Art” Mural Project will bring together diverse groups of community members who will create a visible model of cooperation for our community. The project will be documented to create a working model for other cities on how public mural art can foster dialogue and action around peace.
Tree Town Murals founder, Mary Thiefels, says work will begin on the mural by the end of September, 2009. The mural is expected to be completed by April 2010.
The Main Street Area Association is a 501(c)6 organization whose mission is to preserve the long term success and vitality of downtown Ann Arbor.

Michigan Peaceworks is very selective in its alleged mission of promoting peace. They seem content to ignore Obama's escalation of the war in Afghanistan. The headline on their website promotes Bill Ayers, an unrepentent domestic terrorist. They appear to be nothing but a shill for ultra leftist causes.
