Commuter Challenge 2010: Thousands participated, inspired others to try 'green' commuting

During the month of May, more than 1,000 Ann Arbor employees proved you can commute sustainably to Ann Arbor through their participation in the getDowntown Commuter Challenge. Whether they took the bus for the first time or biked 10 miles every day, these employees show us that sustainable commuting can be fun.
We'll have the final statistics for the Commuter Challenge in the coming weeks. Until then, here are some highlights from the month:
Commuter Challenge events
- Green Commute Day: Ann Arbor employees took pictures of their green commutes and submitted them to getDowntown to win some prizes. Click here to check out all the photos.

Bosses and employees who inspire
- getDowntown Leadership Award: The getDowntown Program asked Commuter Challenge participants to nominate their boss for the getDowntown Leadership Award. Click here to check out all of the nominees.
