The sign at the pedestrian refuge island at Seventh and Washington was hit by a car at about 4:50 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23, according to neighbor Wayne Eaker who witnessed the crash. The driver was making a left turn from West Washington onto South Seventh when they hit the sign.

According to records obtained earlier by AnnArbor.com in a FOIA request, this is the 11th time the sign has been hit since it was installed in October of 2009.
