Angell, Haisley Elementary School students share their summer plans

By Lizzy Alfs

Excited children filled the halls of Haisley and Angell Elementary Schools when their summer vacation began Friday afternoon.

The schools held end-of-the-year festivities on their last day that included graduation ceremonies for the fifth-graders.

Angell and Haisley celebrated the graduating class by having a “clap-in” where parents and teachers lined the halls and cheered for the fifth-grade classes.

Angell Elementary Principal Gary Court said celebrating the fifth-grade graduation was an important day for the entire school.

“It’s really the whole school celebrating together,” Court said. “We’re honoring the students we love so much and we’re going to miss them a lot.”

As the festivities came to a close, many of the students said the last day of school means a few months of much anticipated rest, relaxation and warm weather.

Haisley second-grader Cooper Schrag said the best part about summer vacation is simple.

"I have no school and I don't have to wake up early," Schrag said.
