Pittsfield scrapbooking for funds
Schools across AAPS are always looking to raise funds in new ways. Unique, community-wide events in support of students are gaining ground. My neighborhood school is attempting to do the same with its first ever Scrapbook Crop in March.
Pittsfield Elementary is hoping to attract scrapbookers to a crafty, community event - called a crop - as a way to raise funds for school enrichment and PTO-sponsored activities.
The crop provides space for scrapbookers to spread out materials for the day. Registration includes a large, individually-designated table, a variety of scrapbook supplies, a catered lunch by Scrumptious and an opportunity to make some progress on projects while connecting with friends. Organizers hope it clicks with the growing local scrapbook community.
The event is planned for March 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pittsfield Elementary. Registration is $45 or $40 per person if you sign up with a friend(s).
In addition, there will be three demonstrators onsite, all seasoned scrapbookers who can guide newbies and bounce around ideas with the veterans. Cricut machines will be available to use and more than $500 of stamping and scrapbooking products are up for raffle.
Event organizer Angelique Boerst hopes scrapbookers will spread the word to friends and family. Pittsfield Elementary is looking to host the event annually.
