Video: Wisconsin's Ben Brust buries buzzer-beating heave, changes Michigan's Big Ten outlook
Then Ben Brust changed all that.
Brust's buzzer-beating heave just inside midcourt at the end of regulation Saturday spoiled what appeared to be a Michigan road win, and turned it into an eventual overtime loss.
Asked if it was the biggest shot he'd ever hit, Brust didn't hesitate with his response.
"That one wins by far," he said. "By a long shot, actually."
A long shot indeed.
Michigan's John Beilein instructed his team to foul on the play, but Brust caught a clean inbound pass from Mike Bruesewitz -- who was left unguarded on the baseline -- and was able to slip by freshman forward Caris LeVert, eventually hitting a shot.
With the loss, the Wolverines fall to 21-3 on the season, 8-3 in Big Ten play. Michigan's road date with rival Michigan State on Tuesday now becomes extremely important in terms of the Big Ten race.
Here's a clip of Brust's shot, courtesy of ESPN and the Big Ten Network, in case you missed it.
