Glenn Robinson III earns Michigan's 6th Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor this season
CHAMPAIGN, Ill -- Another week, another award for the Michigan basketball team.
Forward Glenn Robinson III was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday, marking the sixth time this season a Michigan player has been given the league's rookie of the week honor.
In total, Michigan has now earned 10 Big Ten weekly awards in 2012-13, more than any other team.
Robinson was steady once again last week during wins over Purdue -- his father's alma mater -- and Illinois, averaging 12 points and 8 rebounds to help Michigan improve to 19-1, 6-1 in Big Ten play.
The 6-foot-6 forward put up 12 points and 9 rebounds in a win over the Boilermakers on Thursday, before finishing with 12 points and 7 rebounds against Illinois on Sunday. Robinson went 10 of 14 from the floor for the week, earning his second freshman of the week honor.
Nik Stauskas (3) and Mitch McGary (1) have also been awarded this season. Trey Burke (2) and Tim Hardaway Jr (2) have each been recognized as the Big Ten's Player of the Week.
Michigan returns to the court Wednesday to host Northwestern.
