Tim Hardaway Jr. to miss first game of his career with ankle injury as Michigan hosts Central Michigan
ANN ARBOR -- For the first time in three seasons, Michigan will be without Tim Hardaway Jr.
The junior guard will sit out No. 2 Michigan's final non-conference tuneup Saturday against Central Michigan (7 p.m., Big Ten Network) due to an ankle injury.
The news was released on Michigan basketball's official Twitter account. No further information on Hardaway's injury was available prior to tipoff.
Hardaway had started all 81 games he'd been a part of at Michigan since arriving in Ann Arbor prior to the 2010-11 campaign.
Michigan's second-leading scorer, the 6-foot-6 wing is averaging 15.8 points and 5.3 rebounds for the Wolverines (12-0) this season.
Freshman Caris LeVert was expected to make his first career start in place of the injured Hardaway.
