ISSUE OF THE DAY:
Don't adjust your screen.
Michigan is, in fact, a 38-point favorite in this game. According to R.J. Bell of noted oddsmaking site Pregame.com, that qualifies as the largest spread in Division I college basketball this season.
That, literally, is about the only interesting part of this game.
Binghamton is 12-60 over the past two and a half years, and Michigan is the No. 3 team in the country. But, Michigan coach John Beilein said on his radio show Monday night that he has friendship with first-year Bearcats coach Tommy Dempsey, and now we know why this game was scheduled.
For Michigan, Tuesday will provide a chance to get extended minutes for developing players like Caris LeVert and Mitch McGary. Spike Albrecht will likely see more playing time, and Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. will be able to get some rest -- if Michigan takes care of its business.
But, let's be honest here, the real issue is that spread -- we can all admit that. It's OK.
Does Michigan cover this thing? It's a monster.
Well, 38 points is a lot of points. Can Michigan cover? What's your score prediction for tonight's game, and what do you want to see Michigan get accomplished against Binghamton?
