The fifth-ranked Wolverines can clinch a trip to New York's Madison Square Garden for the NIT Season Tip-Off tournament semifinals with a win Tuesday (8 p.m., ESPN2) over Cleveland State at Crisler Center.
The winner of Tuesday's game advances to play either Pittsburgh or Lehigh in one NIT semifinal on Nov. 21 in New York City.
Michigan advanced to tonight's "north regional" final with an opening-round 91-54 win over IUPUI on Monday shortly after Cleveland State knocked off Bowling Green, 79-73, in overtime.
The last time Michigan advanced to the Preseason NIT semifinals was in 2004, when the Wolverines fell to No. 17 Arizona, 61-60, before losing to Providence in the consolation game.
