Michigan basketball '13 pledge Zak Irvin is Big Ten's highest-rated commit, per Rivals.com
ANN ARBOR -- There aren't a ton of Big Ten basketball commitments off the board in the class of 2013.
But presently, the Michigan basketball team has the league's top-rated pledge, according to Rivals.com.
Hamilton (Ind.) Southeastern four-star forward Zak Irvin jumped 37 spots in Rivals.com's latest Top 150 ranking for 2013, and now sits at No. 31 overall for the class.
The next-highest Big Ten commit already off the board for 2013? That'd be fellow Michigan pledge Derrick Walton, a four-star point guard from Chandler Park Academy who chimes in at No. 44.
Like the 6-foot-6 Irvin, the 6-foot-0 Walton saw a rise in stock, per Rivals, this time around -- jumping up 13 spots.
Michigan's lone other 2013 pledge in the Top 150 is 6-foot-9 Ohio-born power forward Mark Donnal, a four-star prospect who currently sits at No. 104.
As of now, 23 of the top 30 players in the Rivals150 are uncommitted -- so Michigan's stance as the best-sitting Big Ten class for 2013 will likely change. But the early pledges Michigan coach John Beilein received from Irvin, Walton and Donnal (all committed prior to the 2011-12 season) puts the Wolverines in good standing.
Michigan's lone other member of the 2013 class is three-star guard Austin Hatch. Hatch's availability for the 2013-14 season remains in question, as he recovers from a 2011 plane crash.
