Catherine Thursby, proprietor of the Red Shoes shop at 332 S. Ashley St. in Ann Arbor, was thrilled to discover her pillows featured on the cover of a new book being released this month.

Pretty Little Pillows, part of the Pretty Little Series for crafters by Lark Books, features inventive interpretations by a group of talented indie designers, according to the synopsis. The projects include pillows adorned with chic appliqués; a bolster decorated with a child’s drawing embroidered onto the surface, and a cheerfully modern patchwork design made from fabric scraps. The book includes instructions and templates for readers to make their own similar pillows.

Thursby was contacted by Lark Books and asked to design some pillows within specific dimensions. She was pleasantly surprised to find her pillows featured on the cover of the book that includes some well-known designers.

The book is available online through major book retailers and will be released to stores sometime soon. More of Thursby's designs may be viewed on her flickr page.
