How healthy is our community? Public comment requested!
Washtenaw County Public Health invites public comment on two key documents currently under development: The Washtenaw County Community Health Assessment and the Washtenaw County Community Health Improvement Plan.
Together, these two processes and the resulting documents help us fully describe the health of our community and how diverse sectors can work together to improve the health of the entire community. Broad participation from across the community will help us produce the best, most accurate results.
These documents are in draft form. Any and all Washtenaw County residents or stakeholders are welcome to provide feedback on as many or as few of the sections as they choose.
The Community Health Assessment or profile is meant to describe the health of the county population. It should include reliable data from a variety of sources. It should further describe the causes of any existing health issues and any resources currently available to address them. County residents and stakeholders must have the opportunity to provide input.
The Community Health Improvement Plan is based on the Assessment. The purpose is to describe how Washtenaw County Public Health will work with the community to address identified health concerns or issues. A collaborative, open process must be used to set priorities and measure progress.
Please visit our website to review the draft publications and provide comments.
We appreciate feedback from communiity members as we all work toward building a healthier Washtenaw! Comments are accepted through September 6, 2013.
