Here's a look at some of the top health news being talked about around the U.S. and the world today:

• If you're wondering how the new health care law will affect you if you want insurance but still can't afford it and what kind of coverage folks will be able to purchase in the future? In an ongoing parsing of the impact this sweeping overhaul might have on health care, the Los Angeles Times answered these questions in a question-and-answer piece today. If you want to compare notes, check out the New York Times, which offered it's own question-and-answer piece on the subject.

• There's more support for chocolate in the health arena with German researchers finding those who regularly consumed chocolate over a decade had lower blood pressure and a 39 percent lower risk of having a heart attack or stroke, Reuters reported. However, it's only those who had a little bit of chocolate - less than a small square in a typical bar - and ate the cocoa-rich dark chocolate who reaped the benefits, they said.

• Government experts say their repeated warnings about risks of "routinely using powerful CT scans to screen patients for colon cancer" were ignored by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the New York Times reported. They said they scans expose patients to huge and unnecessary doses of radiation.
