In the Pews with Bob & Darcy: 4-year-old asks about heaven
By Darcy Crain-Polly
This week our video blog tackles a question posed by a 4-year-old girl. Amy asks: "What does heaven look like? How do we get there?" It's a question far beyond her years. We tried to begin the dialogue of it, and as usual, there is still much to say. We'd love to hear your thoughts as well!
Darcy Crain-Polly is the associate minister at First Congregational Church of Ann Arbor.

Imagine all the people Living life in peace You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one Yep,some of us are dreamers but that only works while you are sleeping. @Snehal, I like what you have written, makes good sense. Lot easier to say it than it is to put into practice as you stated. It is good though, just wanted to let you know!

My mother reassured me about heaven at a very young age when she told me that there were no mosquitos in heaven and when I got there I wouldn't have to wear shoes and my feet would never get dirty. That was enough for me now and today.

Just forgot to mention that this is what we taught our 4 year old and now she is 8 years old. It made ahuge difference in her life compared to other children. She is always happy and content & enjoys her life to the fullest.

Hell and Heaven are both within yourself and they are here. Acceptance with a smile to any situation in life without blaming anybody else is heaven and rejection of any situation by constantly whining about it and/or blaming anybody else but your own self is Hell. With acceptance comes love, kindness, generosity, higher self-esteem, self-love and apathy for people around you. With rejection comes hatred, jealousy, envy and self-rejection. The world is the same, it is how you look at it makes a difference. And it is up to an individual to decide whther they want to live in hell or heaven. Our main enemies are anger, ego, jealousy, attachments, selfishness, cheating etc. which are well within ourselves. If we make treaty with them then we are in hell and if we overcome them then we are in heaven. As simple as that! Extremely hard to do it and may take quite a while, but if the children are educated properly then the whole generation may take baby steps towards realizing heaven within themselves and on this planet.
