Associated Press
This story about a Ted Williams, a former panhandler whose amazing vocal skills were captured on video, has become an internet sensation over the last several weeks. Williams' life has reportedly turned upside down, with multiple job offers, donations and a reunions with estranged family members.
But how exactly did this whirlwind of attention for Williams begin?
CNN reports that Doral Chenoweth III, the man who stopped for this homeless man while others drove by, has a story of his own. Some say it resembles a modern version of the good Samaritan parable.
According to CNN, Chenowith said, "It's part of my faith," after some prodding about his motivations. "You may not be able to help someone with money, but you can at least say hello, how you doing, and look at them."

I don't get it! I am all about opportunities but it sure seems the media has gone way over the top on this one! I am all about 2nd chances and all but......... I have a son who is in the Navy and he announced the inauguration for President Obama and he can't even get a second look at voice over work. I told him I knew now how he could get looked at...just hold up a sign that says he has a good voice! He said it would not work because he does not have long wrap sheet. Please do not get me wrong, he is the announcer and soloist for the Navy Band in Washington DC. It is just that it would be nice to know there is work after the Navy or even as part time gigs while in....Maybe we should take this as a story of hope and not look at all the hundreds of people who would love to be "noticed" and has not yet had that break.....
