As a visual artist, Hammer has created over 80 works which include experimental, documentary, shorts and feature films spanning a 30 year career. Hammer's work is considered groundbreaking in queer cinema and has led to several retrospectives in Berlin, Paris, Taiwan and Madrid. The evening will include screenings of Hammer's work along with a reading from her memoir, "HAMMER!: Making Movies Out of Sex and Life", followed by a discussion with the filmmaker.
