Posted on Mon, Jan 10, 2011 : 5:54 a.m.

Wild Swan Theater, Ann Arbor’s professional theater for families, will host its 5th annual “Chocolate Crush” fundraiser on Saturday, February 5th at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Michigan’s Matthaei Botanical Gardens Conservatory, located at 1800 North Dixboro Road. Ann Arbor’s premier chocolatiers and bakers, including Zingerman’s Candy Manufactory, Schakolad Chocolate Factory, Mindo Chocolate, Cupcake Station, and Bab’s Underground Lounge will present exquisite creations for Wild Swan’s supporters.

Entertainment will be provided by Vincent York’s Jazzistry Band for Hire. Savory appetizers are from What’s Cooking!, and wine and beer are from our best local purveyors.

Ann Arbor area businesses are proving vital in their support of the arts in this economically challenging climate. Local businesses supporting the Crush include Zingerman’s Community of Businesses, Telemus/Beacon Investment Company, TMC Furniture, Abracadabra Jewelry, Kerrytown Market and Shops and Bank of Ann Arbor.

Silent and live auction items feature art, entertainment and romance-inspired treasures offered just in time for Valentine’s Day. Auction items include tickets to sports events and getaway packages, including a best of Ann Arbor night on the town, a summer of golf, Disney World tickets, and a romantic, two-night bed and breakfast stay.

Ticket prices (per person) are $60 for Chocolate Chip ($35 tax-deductible) and $125 for Chocolate Bar ($100 tax-deductible). The event begins at 7:30 p.m., and admission is limited. Tickets are available for purchase by calling Wild Swan at 734-995-0530.
