As part of its 30th season, Wild Swan Theater offers "Frog and Toad" to family audiences this weekend.

Based on Arnold Lobel's classic stories, "Frog" will feature Toad trying to encourage his flowers to grow by reading poetry to his seeds, and both characters struggling to keep themselves from eating all of the cookies that Toad has baked.

All performances happen at Washtenaw Community College's Towsley Auditorium, at 4800 E. Huron River Dr., and the show is recommended for kids age 3-8.

Showtimes are Friday, January 22 at 1 p.m. (the 10 a.m. show is sold out) and Saturday, January 23 at 11 a.m. Tickets - which cost $8 for children and seniors, $12 for adults - for Friday's show are available at the door only, while tickets for Saturday's show may be reserved by calling 734-995-0530 or visiting www.wildswantheater.org.

I happened to be at WCC yesterday and watched bus loads of youngsters waiting excitedly to go in and see Frog and Toad. Congratulations on your 30th Season.
