Held in the Student Center, the event will feature non-profits, government agencies and area businesses sharing information about solutions to environmental problems. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about a number of topics, such as composting, green construction and transportation, wildlife and even the spiritual work of caring for the earth.
The event will also show present recycling and reusing at WCC and in the community, along with sustainable transit options that are being developed in Washtenaw County.
The celebration is open to all members of the community.
Thursday, April 11, 2013. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Free. WCC is located at 4800 E. Huron River Drive, Ann Arbor.

If WCC concentrates solar power generation, windmills, and public rail transportation, they will be just wasting their and other people's time. Get on to real environmental subjects like stopping human population growth and reducing consumption of natural resources.

Or maybe they could simply support the Boy Scouts of America. Then they would be very well-schooled on all of this already - as in before college.

I hope they don't bring up man made global warming. I don't think WCC wants to lose credibility by espousing something that does not exist. As, now, admitted by the same warmists that initially pushed AGW to tax everyone for breathing. "even the spiritual work of caring for the earth." As predicted, environmentalism has become a religion.

Robert Gordon--- I agree - I am not sure where you got the figure that 97% of scientists say man is a leading contributor to climate change. The number I hear quoted most often is that 99% of Climate Scientists agree man is the major contributor. There are a couple climate scientists who receive funding from the oil & coal industries who challenge the idea - but, they have a conflict of interest that discredits their findings.

" 97% of scientists " You went to the hash bash, right?

Robert G That 97% figure is an out right lie. I'd love to sell a bridge to everyone that believes in this nonsense. Robert, please name the 97% of the scientists. You'd have hard time finding 100 scientists. More like .1% of scientists still believe in AGW. I can name 31,000 scientists if you'd like.

Apparently G. Orwell, you choose not to agree with what over 97% of scientists have concluded; that man is a leading contributer to global climate change. About the only scientific theory more widely accepted is evolution, but I suppose you have problems with that one as well.

How's the environment at WCC? Not very good, apparently. http://www.washtenawvoice.com/2013/03/learning-a-craft-or-full-of-****/ Note: the snooze's web page would not permit the last word in the above link. Replace the **** with a frequently used four-letter word.. Wonder when the Snooze is going to start covering the circus at WCC rather that run puff pieces?

"Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without, and if somebody needs help, you help 'em" is more ancient than even Paul R. Ehrlich, but needs to be reinvented by each generation.
