Musicians from the Cleveland Orchestra and locals from Ann Arbor combine for chamber music at Silvio's on Wednesday.

Zachary Lewis | The Cleveland Plain Dealer

So, what do you do if you're a musician with the renowned Cleveland Orchestra and you find yourself unexpectedly staying in Ann Arbor after your big concert due to a major winter storm?

Some of the members of the orchestra came up with a pretty cool answer: Sitting in with a previously planned Classical Revolution informal concert at Silvio's Organic Pizza — just down the street from Hill Auditorium, where the full orchestra had performed the previous night.

Zachary Lewis, classical music writer for the Cleveland Plain Dealer, is traveling with the orchestra on its current tour and also found himself in Ann Arbor longer than expected. Lewis filed a feature story on the Silvio's / Cleveland jam session, capturing a special night in an unexpected place.

Silvio's hosts Classical Revolution every Wednesday night.

This incident was just referenced on CBC Radio2! I'm sad that I didn't go for pizza that night - this would have been a wonderful event to stumble upon!
