On Wednesday, June 20 at 10 p.m., the Syfy channel will present the premiere of “School Spirits,” a one-hour docu-series exploring paranormal tales of school hauntings nationwide—and the subject of the first show is a ghost story set at a University of Michigan sorority house.

As described in a press release, "Although the house was creepy and in disrepair, the sisters were excited to begin the new school year in a place all of their own. Dark forces seemed to awaken something evil and disturb a lingering presence in the house, causing the girls to uncover a long forgotten tragedy."

The press release does not specify the sorority or the time frame, but a media conference call planned for tomorrow may provide more information.

From executive producers Seth Jarrett and Julie Isogna Jarrett ("Celebrity Ghost Stories") and Mark Burnett ("The Voice," "Survivor"), "School Spirits" tells chilling tales, presented through first-person accounts by the students, alumni, faculty and historians who experienced them. In addition to the University of Michigan, the 6-episode series visits SUNY Geneseo in upstate New York; Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania; Sweet Briar College in Sweet Briar, Virginia; Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania; and Eastern Kentucky University.

This show sounds pretty scary to me. I think I'll be watching it with my wife beside me.
