A back injury has forced popular DJ Tiesto to cancel a number of upcoming shows, including one at the Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center.

The EMU show has been rescheduled for Feb. 27, 2013, EMU announced.

Tiesto said in a prepared statement that he has been advised not to perform next month, but a full recovery is expected.

"I hate to disappoint my fans and be told I have to sit still for a while, but I am relieved we were able to reschedule the dates. I'm looking forward to seeing you all very soon!," Tiesto said.

Tiesto performed at EMU last September, drawing a large and enthusiastic crowd.
