Theo Katzman will rock Sonic Lunch; Hillside Terrace will hold a car show to battle Alzheimer's

MUSIC

Sonic Lunch continues in downtown Ann Arbor on Thursday with Theo Katzman at Liberty Plaza. Noon-1:30 p.m. Katzman was a member of popular local band My Dear Disco and performed at numerous national festivals including SXSW. He eventually left the band in 2009 to pursue his solo career and become a music educator and mentor teaching drums, guitar and bass in Ann Arbor. Free. On the corner of Division and Liberty streets, Ann Arbor.

CARS

Hillside Terrace will hold its annual car show on Thursday. 4:30-7:30 p.m. There will be prizes, food, 50/50 raffle, and auction. All of the proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. Free admission. 1939 Jackson Ave., Ann Arbor. 734-761-4451.

BEER

The Brew for the River Event continues on Thursday nights. 5-7:30 p.m. Five Ann Arbor microbreweries are teaming up with the Huron River Watershed Council to sponsor a night dedicated to water, beer and the people who love both. This week, head to Arbor Brewing. MUSIC

Singer/songwriter Brendan James will perform at The Ark. 8 p.m. His piano-based songwriting style is influenced by artists of the 1970s (with more than a bit of Stevie Wonder) and by more recent artists such as Ryan Adams.
